Founded in 1987, Human Uplift Trust (HUT) runs a formal school for 752 children of rural dalith agricultural families in Trichy District, as well as  an orphanage for 103 HIV children. Thanks to the work of HUT, they can graduate, go to university and finally get a job. In addition to this support, Thalie Art Foundation is working on a residency program of young contemporary artists in Manachanallur for January 2017.
