Serious Games Conference gets an International Edge

Academics from the Serious Games community in over 15 different countries have submitted papers for inclusion at JCSG2016 Joint Conference on Serious Games, to be published in a book by Springer. In addition to this strong and diverse group of academics, Sara de Freitas, Pro-Vice Chancellor at Murdock University in WA - will join Tracy Fullerton as keynote speakers at the Conference to be held at The Edge (South Bank, Brisbane).

Sara de Freitas is Pro Vice Chancellor and Professor of Learning and Teaching at Murdoch University, Perth. Prior to this, Sara was Director of Research at the Serious Games Institute in the UK, bringing together commercial and academic partnerships to fuel regional economic growth and attracting millions in research income. Sara is a passionate advocate of pedagogy-led blended learning, accelerated learning and activity-led learning. Her current research focuses upon learning analytics, online learning and higher education policy. She has undertaken consultancy work with government departments and agencies, and has experience of working in the manufacturing, ICT, education, health and risk and resilience sectors.  She has published extensively: her most recent book, Education in Computer Generated Environments (2014), published by Routledge in the Research in Education Series, outlines a vision for future learning in higher education.
