'Creativity and Machines' Panel Discussion

First it was chess and then recently it was the Chinese game of Go – in both cases a computer beat the best human we could offer up. These machines may be able to process information faster than us but are they even close to being creative?

As part of the World Science Festival Professor Andrew Brown was involved in a panel discussion for ABC national radio, along with Nancy Andreasen - The Andrew H. Woods Chair of Psychiatry, University of the Iowa Carver College of Medicine; Simon Kyaga - Attending physician in psychiatry at Lidingö Affektiva Mottagning and Researcher at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm; Gerfried Stocker - Media artist and telecommunications engineer and Artistic director of Ars Electronica and Natasha MItchell.
