Dr Chari Larsson
Dr Larsson’s research area is the historiography, theory and philosophy of images in the European tradition. She lectures in art theory at Queensland College of Art, with a focus on contemporary art.
In 2015 Dr Larsson was awarded her doctorate in art history from the University of Queensland. Titled “Didi-Huberman’s Ghosts”, this won the best PhD prize awarded by the Art Association of Australia and New Zealand (AAANZ). In 2016, it won the University of Queensland’s Dean’s Award. Dr Larsson is currently preparing a monograph on Georges Didi-Huberman for publication.
Dr Larsson has written for national and international art and cinema journals including Artlink, Broadsheet, Di’van, EMAJ, esse, Magazine Spirale, Senses of Cinema and Transformations. She regularly presents her research at AAANZ Conferences (2016, 2015, 2012 and 2011).
